These terms apply to your use of Alter Ego, a service operated by Cafe Boon ("we", "us"). By connecting Alter Ego you agree to them. Questions: sebastiaanboon@cafeboon.com.
The service
Alter Ego is a remote MCP connector. It lets AI assistants that you use read and write files in cloud storage that you control, so that your rules, profile, contexts, journals and playbooks persist between chats.
Your account and storage
You sign in through your own storage provider and grant Alter Ego the access shown during sign-in. You are responsible for that account, and your use of the provider is subject to its own terms. You can revoke access at any time, see the docs.
Your content
Your files stay yours. We do not claim any rights in them and we do not store them on our server beyond the time a tool call runs. You are responsible for what you store and for having the right to store it. Do not store passwords, access tokens or other secrets in your memory.
Acceptable use
- Do not use the service to break the law or the rights of others.
- Do not attack, overload or try to get around the security of the service.
- Do not use the service to reach storage or accounts that are not yours.
Third parties
Alter Ego works with AI assistants and storage providers that we do not control. Their availability, behaviour and terms are theirs. What your assistant does with information it reads through Alter Ego is governed by that assistant's provider.
Availability and changes
We work to keep the service running but provide it as is, without guarantees of availability. We may change or stop the service, and will try to give notice of significant changes. You can stop using it at any time.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data stored with your storage provider. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with it. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
